Case Study : Brands
ExerciseTV has experienced explosive growth in the Video-On-Demand (VOD) sector with its best-in-class fitness videos. By delivering VOD workouts through US cable operators including Comcast and Time-Warner, the company has cemented its status as one of the leading brands among frequent home exercisers... a market estimated at approximately 20 million people in the US. ExerciseTV needed a solution to extend the reach of its enormous inventory of high-quality video content to health club members as well... a market estimated at 42 million people in the U.S.
Brand2hand worked with ExerciseTV to re-purpose its existing content assets so that they would be accessible to consumers via Internet-enabled phones. In 2008, the companies launched ExerciseTV Mobile Trainer.
The ExerciseTV Mobile Trainer service has expanded ExerciseTV’s addressable market from 20 million exercisers to over 60 million. The new service delivers made-for-mobile fitness training programs from ExerciseTV to consumers when and where it is most relevant... at the gym while exercising. Each program offers ExerciseTV’s expert fitness trainers demonstrating exercises with proper form and technique along with trainer tips and encouragement. All programming is available in video while thumbnail images enable users to view their workouts at-a-glance. For users with non-video-compatible phones (or carrier networks that block video) an Image Series is offered for most workouts. Designed with the health club experience in mind, many workouts are broken up into individual exercises so that users can quickly reference the content they need in bite-sized clips.
